Ardent bowlers took to the Sasol Recreational Club bowling greens on Saturday, November 6, and competed in a sponsor day.
The sponsor day, also known as “skaapdag” is hosted every year and participants could win one-half of two sheep that were sponsored by Johan Roarty.
All funds raised go towards the running of the club.
Teams from Secunda, Standerton, Ermelo and Witbank competed in the sponsored day.
Competitors played in pairs and were partnered up with different partners in each round.
A total of three rounds were played with the third round being an open draw with women competing against men.
Scores were tallied up over all three rounds and an individual score was given.
The winners in the men’s division were Shaun Basson from Bethal and Vaino Prinsloo from Ermelo.
In the women’s division Dina Kymdel from Secunda and Anneke Combrink from Ermelo won.
