Vince Bembe and Smit ‘Malboer’ Steyn from of Dominators Den MMA Club were awarded for their hard work in the fighting ring last year.
Bembe received the award for Submission of the Year with a move called the ‘von flue choke’.
His coach, Mr Cedric Doyle, said it was the first time that such a choke was seen in EFC circles.
Steyn received an award from the MMA republic for Debut of the Year with his total knockout during his fight against British Boloyong last year.
The awards were announced on Facebook by two different companies.
Mr Doyle said he is proud of these two fighters and it feels great to be producing some of Africa’s best mixed martial arts (MMA) athletes.
“These two are the real deal and can compete against any fighter in any promotion around the world,” said Mr Doyle.
Bembe and Steyn have been training with Mr Doyle for more than five years.
