Players of the Govan Mbeki Darts Association shine at champs
Local players did well for the first match of the year and claimed first and second place victories.
Members of the Govan Mbeki Darts Association competed in the first open for 2022 on Saturday, January 15, in Middelburg.
The local players fared well for the first match of the year and claimed first and second place victories.
Danielle Lombard took first place in the women’s junior division while Dyalne Tonkin of Govan Mbeki and Jason Barnard of Msukaligwa, claimed first place in juniors doubles.
Govan Mbeki’s Marietha Oberholzer and Minette Oberholzer took second place in the women’s doubles.
The Mpumalanga trails will begin on January 29. There will be three trials over six weeks.
Members who made the cut will still be announced.
Practice is on Mondays from 18:00 till 21:00.
The Govan Mbeki Darts Association is also calling all interested youth who wish to join their junior team.
Depending on the demand, practices will be on Fridays from 15:00 till 17:00 for the youth.
