Tshiamo Lephoto wins parkrun in a good time
Run director, Charl van Wyk, did the customary honours of warnings about the pitfalls due to the rain .
Tshiamo Lephoto secured first place at the parkrun on Saturday, February 5 and ran in a time of 17 min 08 sec.
Altogether 58 participants grouped together at the line-up and were out of the blocks at 08:00
Run director, Charl van Wyk, did the customary honours of warnings about the pitfalls due to the rain and a round of applause was heard for three first-timers, who arrived for the 5km route.
Elmien Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Hugh Robertson, Jennifer Naidoo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Marjorie Uys, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak and Sylvy Moodly facilitated a smooth and safe event.
Altogether three personal-best times were recorded at the 125th event.
Sifiso Siphamandla ended in second place in 17 min 50 sec, followed by Tumisho Mashabane in 24 min 24 sec.
Johan Ferreira clocked in at 24 min 41 sec and Ilse Ferreira at 26 min 50 sec, running her 50th race.
