19 participants take on parkrun in Standerton despite the weather

Sifiso Siphamandla completed the distance in a time of 28:09, followed by Siphesihle Jimmy Junior in 28:17.

Altogether 19 brave souls took on the 5km parkrun at the Standerton River Park on Saturday, April 9.

The weather did not hinder old-timers, as well as regulars, to do their best.

Theo Schönfeldt ended third in 29:13, while Frans Vermaak ended fourth, in his 50th race, in 30:58.

A muddy Vermaak fell along the route, but just said afterwards a shower will wash off the evidence.

Ruan Trompetter was in fifth place in 31:13, a new personal best time.

Charl van Wyk, Charlene Geyser, Elmien Vermaak, Hugh Robertson, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson,

Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Sangeeta Daya and Séan Jansen van Rensburg volunteered to facilitate a smooth event.
