61 participants ready to go at 136th parkrun in Standerton
Altogether seven athletes improved their times and six first-timers were ready to go when the whistle sounded.
The 136th parkrun at the Standerton River Park on Saturday, April 23 saw 61 participants lining up at 8:00 in misty weather.

The run director cautioned participants on the muddy conditions.
Sifiso Siphamandla was first over the finish line in a time of 18:56, followed by Sinkho Mzizi in 21:28, a new personal best.
Kuhlesbonge Dube came in third in 25;31 on his first attempt, while Humbulani Ramau completed the distance in 26:51.
Lourens Botha’s time was 27:11, a personal best and Theo Schönfeldt’s 27:34.
Derek Ferguson, Hugh Robertson, Ishara Pillay, Kay Pillay, Krishnalal Ramdharee, Leticia Fourie, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette de Sousa, Ronnie Moodley, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley and Vanita Moodley volunteered to ensure a safe 5km for all participants.
Altogether 38 participants took on the parkrun on Saturday, April 16.
It was the 135th event with three people improving their times and four first-timers arriving.
First over the finish line was Louis van der Walt, a first-timer, completing the distance in 25:06, followed by Rodrique van der Voort in 28:55.
Parth Jayram’s time was 29:30, Brendan Archer’s 30:04 and Pieter Grobbelaar’s 31:06.
Catherine le Roux, Charl van Wyk, Elmien Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Gerhardus le Roux, Hugh Robertson, Johannes Vosloo, Jean Robertson, Marjorie Uys, De Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak en Theo Schönfeldt saw to it that participants has a smooth 5km.
