Taratibo Ski Boat Club from Trichardt awards deep-sea anglers

Prizes were awarded for various game fish caught and released in competitions, in anglers’ own capacity and internationally.

The Taratibo Ski Boat Club recently hosted their prize-giving function at the Trichardt Clubhouse.

Trophies were awarded to deep-sea anglers for the years 2019-2021.

Due to the restrictions placed during Covid-19 lockdown, the club was unable to host its functions for the years 2019-2021.

Prizes were awarded for various game fish caught and released in competitions, in anglers’ own capacity and internationally.

For the year 2019, the following categories were awarded:

Tuna Trophies: Yellowfin Tuna – Linda du Preez, Longfin Tuna – Lionel du Preez and Dorado – Etienne du Preez.

Sailfish Trophies: Sailfish released – Etienne du Preez, Blue Marlin Released – Dwayne Viviers, Blue Marlin Released – Dawie Saaiman, Shortbill Marlin released – Jan Strydom and Sailfish released – Kobus Engelbrecht.

Best Angler in international waters was Zelmarie Viviers.

The Skipper of the Year was awarded to Michel de Kock.

The Biggest Game Fish in international waters went to Zelmarie Viviers.

Most points for sailfish released in South African coastal waters was Kobus Engelbrecht.

Most points for marlin released in South African coastal waters were Jan Strydom and Dwayne Viviers.

The Women’s Angler of the Year went to Linda Du Preez.

Angler of the Year in international waters was awarded to Zelmarie Viviers while angler of the year in South African coastal waters was awarded to Jan Strydom and Dwayne Viviers.

Merit trophies were awarded to Jan Strydom, Dawie Saaiman, Michel de Kock and Dwayne Viviers.

For the year 2020, the following categories were awarded:

Sailfish Trophies: Billfish released – Ernest Venter and Dawie Saaiman

The Skipper of the Year was awarded to Michel de Kock.

Most points for Marlin released in South African coastal waters went to Ernest Venter and Dawie Saaiman.

Angler of the Year in South African coastal waters was awarded to Ernest Venter and Dawie Saaiman.

For the year 2021, the following categories were awarded:

Sailfish Trophies: Billfish released – Dwayne Viviers.

The Skipper of the Year was awarded to Michel de Kock.

Most points for Marlin released in South African coastal waters went to Dwayne Viviers, while Angler of the Year in South African coastal waters also went to Dwayne Viviers.

Merit trophies were also awarded to the following: Dawie Saaiman, Michel de Kock and Dwayne Viviers.
