Visitors from Johannesburg makes Standerton Parkrun their 100th

Brett Cameron and Francesca Parrini completed the distance of 5km in a time of 27:13 and 27:14 respectively.

The Standerton River Park’s parkrun was done in swirling mist on Saturday, July 16.

It was quite an accomplishment for two visitors from Johannesburg, who participated in their 100th parkrun at different venues.

Brett Cameron and Francesca Parrini completed the distance of 5km in a time of 27:13 and 27:14 respectively.

Siyabonga Kamhelo once again participated and crossed the finish line in 18:10, followed by Mbuso Mazibuko in 25:13 and SJ Groenewald in 25;14, a personal best.

Run director, Jennifer Naidoo and Charl van Wyk, Elna Vermaak, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Marjorie Uys, Renette de Sousa, Séan Jansen van Rensburg en Wikus Fourie facilitated a safe and smooth event.

Altogether 43 runners and walkers were out of the blocks at 8:00.

The parkrun scheduled for August 6 will be in celebration of Women’s Month on August 9, and the boys and men are requested to dress accordingly to show support for women.
