Sasol 1 Secunda leads the Premier League log

eMba Cricket Club hosted Sasol 2 Bulldogs on Saturday, January 14.

Sasol bowled eMba out for 154.

Dirk Coetzee took 4/36 in 7 overs. Tshepo Ntshalintshali was eMba’s best batsman scoring 54 runs off 70 balls.

Sasol 2 began the run chase well and lost their first wicket on 90.

eMba had a fantastic fight back and bundled out the remaining 9 wickets for only 56 runs.

Werner Coetzee top-scored for Sasol with 64 runs from 61 balls.

Sasol 1 Secunda thrashed Ermelo with 10 wickets on Sunday, January 15.

Ermelo won the toss and elected to bat first.

They could only manage 62 runs.

Ignus Koekemoer took four wickets for 12 runs in 6.1 overs.

Sasol 1 chased the score down without losing a wicket in 7.3 overs, boosting the overall net run rate to 4.99.

Dewald Erasmus scored 31 not out and Pieter Vrolijk scored 28 not out.

The other result in the Premier League saw Standerton go down against Bethal Bears with seven wickets.

Sasol 1 now leads the log with a five point advantage after four rounds.
