Evander dance school students shine at the DTMA International competition on board the MSC Galaxy of the Ocean
Two Julie-Ann School of Dance students, Leja Viljoen and Kiarah Fourie, have been chosen to represent South Africa at the Disney World Dance Competition happening in Orlando in 2027.
The Julie-Ann School of Dance (JSD) dancers had a phenomenal performance at the 2026 MSC Galaxy of the Ocean DTMA International Competition held from March 16 to 20.
Of the 25 dancers selected for the American tour, two JSD students, Leja Viljoen and Kiarah Fourie, have been chosen to represent South Africa at the 2027 Disney World Dance Competition in Orlando.
The 2026 international title winners are:
- Kiarah Fourie (overall junior contemporary)
- Alissia Albasini (overall pre-junior acrobatics beginner)
- Nkanyezi Sibanyone (overall pre-junior novice and overall junior freestyle),
- Leja Viljoen (overall junior hip hop novice and overall junior disco)
- Nsimeko Rikhotso (overall hip hop beginner)
- Juane Kluyts (overall senior disco)
Special recognition awards went to:
- Kiarah Fourie (excellence in performance)
- Leja Viljoen (most infectious personality)
- Alissia Albasini (incredible understanding of acrobatics)
- Aleah Jansen van Niewenhuizen (remarkable age and ability)
