House goes up in flames in Burger Street

The neighbours were kind enough to put him and his family up for the night.

A house in Burger Street burnt down last Wednesday evening.

Mr Novelty Ndlovu woke up about 11am to find that the house was engulfed in smoke.

He frantically rushed around to wake his family to exit the burning dwelling.

He managed to rescue his wife, two-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son.

The neighbours were kind enough to put him and his family up for the night.

“I got my loved ones safe by the hands of God,” he said.

Mr Ndlovu then noticed a vehicle of Kasselman Security Services on the scene.

The Kasselman officer had already notified the Fire Brigade, who arrived at about midnight.

By that time it was too late to save any of Mr Ndlovu’s belongings.

He has now taken up residence in Florapark and thanked his neighbours for their support during the ordeal.

He said they are struggling to find their feet, but are coping.
