Sancta offers actors mentoring sessions

SECUNDA – The mission of the South African National Community Theatre Association (Sancta) in Mpumalanga is to offer non professional playwrights, directors and actors in Mpumalanga mentoring sessions via WhatsApp and Facebook, monthly training camps, monthly 10 minute play contests and yearly 10 minute play tournaments.

Planet Pawn Brokers is a supporter of Sancta Mpumalanga and the CEO of Sancta Mpumalanga, Mr Chris Harrison, said: “May you raise the quality, status and profile of the community performing arts and produce highly skilled and slickly run pieces of work, break a leg.”

“Our main mission is to help the individual and theatre and drama groups develop, write, produce, direct and perform in their own productions in front of paying audiences,” said Mr Henning Botha of Sancta Mpumalanga.

“Our project partners are Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club that provides the Limelight Theatre Venue, Trichardt Lodge that provides the accommodation for the students attending the monthly training camps, the Actors Studio Trichardt that provides the rehearsal venue for the students and the mentors and Planet Pawn Brokers who provide the decor and props.

Sancta Mpumalanga is at the forefront of community theatre development and is the Mpumalanga provincial body of Sancta which is a non-profit organisation.
