Secunda has its own Idols

SECUNDA – The popular Graceland Idols will begin at the Buffalo Bills Showbar at Graceland Casino, Hotel and Resort on Sunday nights.

It will run from 3 May to 26 July and the legendary entertainer Gordon Rodway will return as the host of the event that last took place in 2011.

Some of the prizes up for grabs include R5 000, a demo recording contract, a Samson mic and a Graceland contract for the winner, as well as R3 000 for the runner-up and R1 500 cash for the second runner up.

There will also be weekly prizes and each weekly winner will qualify for the grand finale.

Contestants must be at least 18 years old or older and the competition is a solo vocal singing competition to back tracks which will be supplied by Rodway Entertainment.

Entry is free and contestants will be judged on their appearance and overall impression, vocal ability, stage presence and personality and audience response.

Judges will be provided by the competition sponsors which include Graceland Casino, Hotel and Country Club, The Bulletin, Rodway Entertainment and Music Network.

Attend the opening night at Buffalo Bills on 3 May at 7pm and catch all the entertainment.
