Mrs Africa hosts Miss and Mrs Winter Beauty

Ms Wendy Smit from Secunda has been crowned Mrs Africa 2015 and she hosted a beauty pageant at the local Made with Love Market on Saturday, 4 July.

Ms Wendy Smit from Secunda has been crowned Mrs Africa 2015 and she hosted a beauty pageant at the local Made with Love Market on Saturday, 4 July.

She is the mother of two and is married to Johan Smit.

Ms Smit is also a member of the JeNeSaisQuoi Modelling Academy and is involved in the community projects that are hosted by the academy leads.

She will be working in the community during the next 12 months to make a difference to others.

The Mrs Africa Pageant is a pageant with a difference – the entrants are required to represent their forefathers and as a result of this, families begin to look into their heritages and cultures.

The winners in each category, together with their runners-up take part in charity and community work in their respective provinces, thus brightening up the lives of those less fortunate than themselves.

Some of the charity work involved, include visiting the sick and elderly in hospitals, Aids homes, children’s and old age homes, as well as attending fundraising events.

Judging included personal interviews, rehearsals, modelling skills and confidence.

The Miss and Mrs Winter Beauty pageants are part of four pageants which Ms Smit hosted at the Made With Love Market.

Entrants keep their scores for all four and at the end of the year, the contestants with the most scores are in line for the Sovereign Beauty Supreme Pageant.

Ms Joey Viljoen is Mrs Winter Beauty 2015 and Annika Vollgraaff is Miss Beauty 2015.
