Stand-up comedians dished out laughter at the 99% Zulu Comedy Show at the Graceland Casino on Friday, 29 January.

The line-up included Simphiwe Shembe, Siyanda Maphumulo, Tsoro, Siya Seya and Sikhumba Hlophe.

The Idols sensation, Siyanda Maphumulo, brought the house down with his imot’ensthontsh’ imali joke, while Skumba Hlophe kept the man standing with his crazy cheating tips for guys.

The Graceland Casino was overflowing with people from all over the province.

Mr Monwabisi Grootboom, producer of Wow Entertainment, said he was overwhelmed by the support and the warm welcome they received.

“We are grateful that people take Zulu comedy serious.

“The general aim of the 99% Zulu Comedy is to create a deliberate interest in stand-up comedy with African language speakers, while seeking to address

a wide range of social challenges facing our country through certain objectives.

He urged people to always get their tickets early to avoid inconveniences.

Sifiso Nkabinde who attend the 99% Zulu comedy for the first time, said he enjoyed it and that he never thought that a vernacular stand up could be so nice.

“The 99% Zulu Comedy was 100 per cent fun.

“The comedians were friendly after the show and posed with us for photos.

“I hope they come again soon.”
