18 May is National Visit Your Relatives Day, a day reminding us to stop for a moment, take some much-needed time and visit those relatives we care about and have not seen for a while.
It is easy to get caught up in the busyness of today’s fast-paced lifestyle which can result in us losing touch with our relatives. It is also hard to stay in touch if those relatives do not live close by – the reality is that siblings, cousins, parents and dear relatives are often scattered across the country. A visit does not only have to be a face-to-face visit at home but can also be a phonecall or a Skype chat, as, with today’s technology, we are now able to communicate with loved ones living far away, as if they are right beside us.
To celebrate today, spend time with your family, either in person, on the phone or via the computer. You will be glad you did, because life is too short to not make time for family.
