Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.

Roads in and around Davidsonville remain closed due to on-going protests in the area over electricity concerns.

Demonstrations started on Tuesday, 21 May, with residents calling on Ward 71 councillor, Rene Benjamin, to visit the area and hear their pleas.

Residents said City Power officials removed their electricity boxes instead of fixing the faulty ones, and this resulted in residents not having electricity.

The area has been on lockdown, with residents vowing to continue protesting until Mayor Herman Mashaba addresses them.
