A note to residents of the Weltevreden Park area

Weltevreden Park residents are urged to be cautious when walking on the corner of Wildesering Avenue and Lemoendoring Steet

The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) and Ward 126 councillor, David Brand, have been made aware of an uncovered manhole on the corner of Wildesering Avenue and Lemoendoring Street in Weltevreden Park.

The manhole cover has been missing for more than a month and residents of the area have covered it with a tree branch in an attempt to prevent pedestrians from falling into it and being injured. However, the tree branch can be moved easily.

JRA promised that a team will be sent out today, 15 August, to attend to the issue; however, until a permanent solution is implemented, residents and other pedestrians in this area are urged to be cautious when walking past the open manhole.

It is especially difficult to see from late afternoon through to the early morning, so please be vigilant.
