Traffic circle almost completed

Motorists will soon be able to travel with ease on Eastwood and Scott Avenues in Randpark Ridge as the enormous traffic circle is nearing completion.

Ward 126 councillor, David Brand, told the Northsider that the construction of the circle, which started in late August, would be completed in less than three weeks (early December).

Excessive speeding on both roads became cause for concern following accidents in which unsuspecting motorists would become confused by the old road island, leading them to plunge into a property wall. Due to several accidents and costs to the property, Brand announced the construction of the circle after it received approval from the Integrated Development Plan (IDP).

He also cited that the circle was not only beneficial to motorists but to pedestrians as well, as a pedestrian crossing on each side of the circle was part of the contract.

At this stage, both roads are under construction, and motorists are advised to treat the routes with caution.
