Roodepoort residents urged to send in their water and electricity meter readings during lockdown

Photos and meter reading should be emailed to the entities.

The City of Johannesburg’s power and water entities have sent out a press release requesting customers to email their meter readings, accompanied by photos to them during the national Covid-19 lockdown.

City Power and Johannesburg Water stated that their meter readers were unable to visit customers’ properties during the lockdown to abide by the lockdown regulations.

They are requesting customers to send their readings (accompanied by photos where possible) to them electronically.

The following should accompany these submissions:

 City Power:
– Account number
– Meter number
– Meter readings
– Reading date
– A photo of the reading

Before emailing the information to estimations@citypower.co.za, customers are urged to visit www.citypower.co.za to confirm their billing schedule. For more information, City Power can be contacted on 011 490 7484.

• Johannesburg Water:
– Account number
– Meter number
– Meter readings
– Reading date
– A clear photograph of the reading (not exceeding 2MB)

This information should be emailed to meterreading@jwater.co.za by no later than 30 April.

The entities also mentioned that, in the event of no readings being received, they will charge customers according to estimates.
