Wilro Park Post Office responds to queries regarding car licence renewals

"Car licence applications have been minimal lately so there is not much of a queue of applicants."

Marina Viljoen, Branch Manager of the Wilro Park-based Post Office has sent out a notice to residents who would like to renew their vehicle licences.

Marina commented on the fact that some residents have seen the queues at the post office and decided not to go in to have their vehicle licences renewed. She addressed this issue by saying that in most cases, the queues are for the R350 Covid-19 state grant rather than licence renewals.

She continued to say that car licence applications have been minimal lately so there is not much of a queue of applicants. Marina said the best time for residents to come to the post office for the licences would be early in the morning.

She further said that the post office has been receiving numerous calls regarding the problem but residents are relieved to find out that they can get their disks immediately, on condition that they pay immediately.

The post office also has a service option where residents can complete up to three applications and do a bulk payment once they have been processed. Once this has been done, they will contact residents to go to the post office to pay and collect their licences.

The Wilro Park Post Office is located at the Wilrogate Shopping Centre on the corner of Taaibos and Mimosa Streets.
