Rapper establishes platform to engage community

Ishmiza told Northsider that the primary topics they are focusing on currently are the effects of Covid-19 on local businesses, and the long-standing issue of land invasion in the area.

Zandspruit rapper Ishmael Sphamandla Masuku, better known as Ishmiza SA on the music scene, founded an online radio show to engage leaders and the public on social issues in Zandspruit.

The youngster, who is also using the platform to hone his voice skills for radio, started the platform to give a voice to the voiceless.

“I started this new local online radio show, which I also host, called Hustlers Corner to share information with the community and keep them informed about issues affecting them,” he added.

Ishmiza told Northsider that the primary topics they are focusing on currently are the effects of Covid-19 on local businesses, and the long-standing issue of land invasion in the area.

With a vision to grow this concept, the rapper said funds were required to bolster it.

“For now I’m still podcasting on audiomack (a music-streaming platform), but for it to be a proper online radio channel we require funding of R2 000 to build a website where people can tune in live,” the optimistic youngster said.
