Company donates essentials to Roodepoort Child Welfare

Multinational companies can often be misconstrued as being at the opposite end of the social spectrum compared to non-profit organisations helping to repair the fabric of society.
Long before the coronavirus pandemic, Laser Park based Vega Controls SA (Pty) Ltd. had an appreciation for the collective humanity of their community. In profitable times it is easy to spread resources, but those who take less so that they may give more are a shining light.
Regardless of the economic downturn, Vega Controls have stuck by their long-standing commitment to supporting Child Welfare South Africa Roodepoort.
On 13 August, the sensors, level and control instrumentation manufacturer donated over 50 quality fibre blankets and close to 100 x 10 litre buckets containing maize meal, sugar, salt and rice, among other essentials. Managing Director, Frikkie Streicher, elaborated on his appreciation for Child Welfare South Africa Roodepoort, “They do such incredible work and we have a responsibility to the community to support their efforts. We also have to thank our customers who enable us to pass on the goodwill.”
The coronavirus pandemic has amplified the need for support, and the private sector is doing what it can to fill the void. Chonette Gordon, administrative PA for Child Welfare South Africa Roodepoort welcomed the donation, saying, “Vega Control have been great to us for such a long time; we really appreciate their support”.
