Christmas is coming early this year

The 1kg cakes are being sold at a cost of R125 and have been sold every year since 1975 to raise money for the Lions Clubs' community outreach programmes.

For 45 years the Lions Club Christmas cakes have been a staple in many households. The traditional, mouth-watering fruit cakes are a must-have for any Christmas season.

Every year, the Lions Clubs give a few months’ notice for the community to order their Christmas Cakes and the increasing popularity of these treats has meant that orders will be opening even earlier this year. Community members are now welcome to pre-order Christmas Cakes that will be available for delivery in October.

All proceeds will go towards initiatives that the clubs embark on throughout the year.

“These projects are done in line with our pillars of service, which include vision, hunger, diabetes, paediatric cancer and the environment, as well as projects aimed at our youth,” said Sandy van Heerden, the Public Relations Officer of the Lions Club of Wilro Park.
