Ms Unseen South Africa supports the victims of gender-based violence and gives them a voice to speak out and to create awareness about gender-based violence.
Twenty-seven-year-old Sandra-Lee Duursema is one of the top 25 contestants who impressed the judges of the Ms Unseen South Africa 2020 competition.
The official announcement of the pageant took place at the beautiful Blouberg Beach on 1 August 2020.
Judging was done on 31 July after entries had closed. Thereafter the judges reconvened to continue the process of selecting contestants to finalise the top 25.
“I believe that if you reach out to others, instant growth will be unstoppable. I’m a firm believer in women empowerment and believe it’s a ‘doing’ phrase,” said Sandra-Lee.
According to the organisers, Ms Unseen South Africa is an unconventional pageant aimed at making a difference towards combating gender-based violence and instilling hope in the beautiful women in the country.
“A woman needs to be treasured, and every woman deserves respect. Happy Women?s Month to all the women in my community, and always remember that you are precious and valuable in the eyes of our Father. You are a princess,” said Sandra-Lee.
The pageant is backed by Unseen International, an online modelling academy in South Africa and the UK.
“Their pageants focus on the inner beauty of everyday contestants, and they are looking for the heart and soul of a real South African woman in our society. This is such a wonderful platform for us as we are able to show our uniqueness and express our own individuality,” said Sandra-Lee.
Ms Unseen South Africa supports the victims of gender-based violence and gives them a voice to speak out and to create awareness about gender-based violence.
A lot of emphasis is put on the inner woman, as well as her passion, drive and community work.
