Eight injured in minibus taxi and bus collision on Main Reef Road
Patients were treated on scene for minor to moderate injuries before being transported to various hospitals in the area.
The morning commute along Main Reef Road was disrupted when a minibus taxi and a Metrobus collided on Wednesday, 3 September.
On-scene paramedics reported that at least eight people were injured in the accident that took place at the Commando Road intersection.
Both taxi and bus were left stranded in the middle of the intersection, and while some occupants removed themselves from the vehicles, one person was trapped inside the taxi.
“ER24 rescue medics carefully extricated the patient from the vehicle using various specialised equipment,” stated ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.
Patients were treated on scene for minor to moderate injuries before being transported to various hospitals in the area. Local authorities were on scene and the incident will undergo further investigation.
