Day 2 EFF shutdown: Clicks stores remain closed in Roodepoort
The Northsider visited the affected Clicks stores from Day 1 of the protest and it appeared that management did not bother to open today, Tuesday, 8 September.
Despite Clicks’ successful interdict to stop the EFF from intimidating them and preventing them from operating, outlets in leading shopping centres in the Roodepoort area remained closed on Day 2 of the shutdown.
The Northsider visited the affected Clicks stores from Day 1 of the protest and it appeared that management did not bother to open today, Tuesday, 8 September.
Clearwater Mall and Town Square Shopping Centre had law-enforcement agencies patrolling the area, while Featherbrooke Village was quiet. Overall no EFF members were spotted at these centres.
The EFF under Malema’s instruction has opted to ensure that no Clicks store operates for the next five days until their demands are met, which are to obtain a list of the people who were involved in creating the advert, and terminating the contract of the third-party company that was involved in projecting black hair as ‘ugly’.
This is a developing story.
