Joburg Water warns of water interruptions

JW is appealing to all its customers to use water sparingly, reminding them that Level 1 water restrictions are still in place.

Johannesburg Water (JW) has sent out a notification to residents to check whether they will be affected by the two planned water interruptions next week.

The first interruption is scheduled for Wednesday, 16 September. Residents will be without water from 10am to 3pm while Rand Water installs a new bulk meter.

The following areas will be affected:
• Honeydew
• Honeydew Manor
• Honeydew Ridge
• Laser Park
• Harveston
• Wilgeheuwel
• Eagle Canyon

The second interruption is scheduled for Thursday, 17 September and will last six hours. Maintenance will be conducted on the 750mm line from 9am to 3pm, leaving the following areas without water:
• Flora Cliff
• Weltevreden Park
• Constantia
• Constantia Kloof
• Helderkruin

JW is appealing to all its customers to use water sparingly, reminding them that Level 1 water restrictions are still in place. These restrictions prohibit residents from watering their gardens between 6am and 6pm during the summer months (1 September to 31 March). Residents are also prohibited from washing paved areas and driveways using hose pipes, and cars should be washed on grass.

The municipal water entity has also encouraged its customers to subscribe to their SMS notification service via their website for alerts on planned and unplanned service interruptions.
More information can be found on Twitter (@jhbwater), Facebook (Johannesburg Water) and the Joburg Water website (www.johannesburgwater.co.za).

For customer inquiries or to report any issues, residents can phone the 24-hour JW hotline on 011 688 1699 or 086 056 2874. Alternatively, an SMS can be sent to 076 333 5052, or emails can be sent to customer@jwater.co.za.
