One dead and four injured in Wilgeheuwel crash

One man was found trapped in the overturned vehicle while four others were lying next to the vehicles.

A man was killed and four other people were left injured on Saturday, 10 October following a collision between two cars on Paul Kruger Road in Wilgeheuwel.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at 4.29pm to find one vehicle on its roof in the road while the second vehicle was parked a short distance away.

One man was found trapped in the overturned vehicle while four others were lying next to the vehicles.

On closer inspection, medics found that the man trapped inside the car had already succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead.

ER24 Rescue Medics and Provincial Fire Services had to use specialised equipment to free the deceased from the vehicle.

On the assessment of the four others, two were in a critical condition while the two others had sustained moderate injuries.

While local authorities were on the scene for further investigation, medics treated the patients, provided the two critically injured with advanced life support interventions and  transported them to nearby hospitals.
