Pals dedicated to helping furry friends
The duo spent most of their weekend at Clearwater Mall – not shopping, but as Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA volunteers.
Weekends for teenage girls could mean so many exciting things, including going to the mall, grabbing a bite and watching a movie, but for two animal-loving pals Dominique Dos Ramos and Nikita du Preez that’s never a priority.
The duo spent most of their weekend at Clearwater Mall – not shopping, but as Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA volunteers.
The Grade 11 girls from Hoërskool Monument High School and The King’s School West Rand respectively spent the day helping the SPCA raise much-needed funds to continue fighting for animals in the community.
Dominique is no stranger to such causes. During the early days of Covid-19, the youngster initiated a drive to collect newspapers, animal food and blankets for the SPCA.
Her success has prompted her to do it again, this time with her friend. “Donations are welcome. We will be collecting newspapers, blankets, food bowls, dog, cat food and leashes, and their donkey Valentino also needs carrots, apples etc,” Dominque suggested.
