Following oversight inspections of the Spring Road bridge ahead of its completion, the project’s community liaison officer (CLO) Quinton Zulu confirmed the official opening of the road.
Zulu told the Northsider that the opening ceremony which will be attended by officials from the City and will take place on Tuesday, 20 October at 1pm.
Ward 126 councillor David Brand has previously commended the contractor for this sterling job citing that the road across the new bridge will help alleviate traffic and in the fight against criminality in the area.
This bridge was closed in 2017 when its integrity could not be guaranteed.
