A tragic combination of coincidental timing and unfortunate confusion has claimed the life of a female pedestrian. She was killed after two motor vehicles collided at the intersection of Albert Street and Hendrik Potgieter Road on Monday, 26 October.
In what has been described at a ‘freak accident’, the woman was struck by one of the vehicles whose momentum is understood to have continued through the collision with the second vehicle.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find one vehicle in the middle island while another vehicle was found on the side of the road. A female pedestrian was found lying in front of the car,” stated ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.
