Florida couple celebrate 65 years of happy marriage

True love really has no bounds, and there are several couples in Roodepoort that prove that. Just one of the many couples that define true love are Florida residents, Hansie and Fransie Schoeman, who have been married for 65 years.
When Fransie was 20 years old, she met Hansie on a train, and it was love at first sight. “We just clicked,” she explained. Three months later, on 15 October 1955, the couple were married and they haven’t looked back since. Hansie said that the first thing that attracted him to his wife was her pitch-black hair, beautifully framing her face. Even now, with Fransie being 85 and Hansie being 89, she is the only woman he is attracted to.

The loving couple put the success of their marriage on the fact that they have an undeniable respect for one another and have been best friends their entire marriage. Despite only knowing each other for three months, the two knew they would be together forever. One of their daughters, Kobie, said growing up she hardly ever saw her parents argue, and she had a very happy childhood. They use their religious beliefs to find peace within themselves and their marriage which, according to them, is why they never argue. “We have exchanged words, but never had a full-on altercation,” explained Fransie.
After 65 years together, Hansie and Fransie are just as in love as the day they got married, and it will most likely stay that way for the rest of their lives.
