Ward 71 Councillor, René Benjamin has sent out a notice to residents in her ward asking them to prepare for an eight-hour power interruption on 1 November.
City Power will be conducting essential maintenance on the Penny Street Substation for the majority of the day. This maintenance is necessary in order to make sure the substation performs at optimal level and to reduce the chance of unplanned outages in the area.
The interruption will be in effect from 8am to 4pm and will affect:
• Witpoortjie
• Grobler Park
• Princess
The power could return at any point during the day, so all supply points are urged to be treated as live at all times. City Power would also like to remind residents that this planned maintenance is subject to cancellation in the event of loadshedding on the same day.
