City Power technicians have been on site at the Penny Street substation since 11.15am this morning, 2 November, attending to the sudden power outage affecting Witpoortjie, Grobler Park and Princess.
City Power spokesperson, Isaac Mangena, said that the cause of the outage was a flash-over on the 6.6kV feeder board which damaged the equipment. Mangena stated that the power entity is currently making arrangements for repairs, but there is no estimated time of restoration (ETR) as yet.
Mangena apologised for any inconvenience and urged residents to follow the City Power Twitter page for regular updates (@CityPowerJhb).
