DA mourns untimely death of community leader

Ward 100 and 114 PR councillor Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku paid tribute to the fallen community leader.

The Ward 100 and 114 DA branches are mourning the death of their branch membership chairlady, Sithelwa Velaphi, who died on 1 November.
The cause of her death is unknown at this stage, but it is said that her body was found in the bathroom.

Ward 100 and 114 PR councillor Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku paid tribute to the fallen community leader.

“We were so moved to hear about her work in the community. We want to thank the family for lending Sithelwa to the DA. She was a real soldier and community leader. The DA will really miss her,” she lamented.

“We are also very grateful to the family for inviting us to mourn with them and celebrate her life,” she said after attending her funeral on 8 November.

The burial was also attended by DA Shadow Minister of Social Development, Bridgette Masango, who had witnessed the activism of this fallen heroine.

Belinda concluded by applauding the commitment of the branch chairpersons in Wards 100 and 114, Connie Kgaphola and Pule Wesi for rallying behind the family to mourn their sister.
