And the winners for October’s Solve-it-Squad are …

The monthly Solve It Squad Kids Activity Page kicked off in the 25 September edition of the Record/ Northsider, and it was a huge hit with our younger readers.

The October page offered the youngsters some Halloween-themed activities, which included a trick or treat word search, Jack the Pumpkin man colouring-in picture, the opportunity to redraw a ghost, a maze to help pirate Emma find her treasure, and much more. But, they did not complete these activities in vain, as they stood a chance of being rewarded with an awesome trick or treat mystery prize, filled with delightful goodies.

Twelve-year-old Caitlyn Chetty was super excited when she heard the news that she was a winner, as this was the first competition she has ever won. “The puzzles were fun and easy to do,” she said.

Six-year-old Sullayman Waryawa made sure he embraced the Halloween theme, as he completed all the activities dressed as a fierce pirate! His mother told the Record that she was so happy when they received the call telling them that Sullayman was a winner. “He was so excited, he asked me every day if the newspaper had phoned me yet. I was almost at the point where I thought I would have to go buy him something small,” she said, laughing.
