Rape survivors prove their innocence using art

Free World Initiative is proving that rape has nothing to do with what the victim was wearing.

This NPO, which aims to raise awareness against gender-based violence, among other pandemics, exhibited clothes rape victims wore when they were attacked. The exhibition was held at Kalashnikovv Gallery in Braamfontein from 27 November to 3 December.

Items such as school uniforms, long pairs of jeans and tracksuits were hung and displayed at the venue to prove nothing was inappropriate about the victims’ dress code at the time of the callous ordeal.
