Ward 89 councillor Amelia Bester has conveyed exciting news about a Johannesburg Water (JW) project labelled the Constantia Kloof Emergency Pipeline replacement project, which isn’t just an infrastructure upgrade for her ward, but a job-creation opportunity for locals.
“Ward 89 residents, I am excited to inform you of a water pipe replacement project to run in our ward over the next four months. I have asked that our own residents be employed as local labour, SMMEs and in the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) position. I ask that youth and women apply for these opportunities as well,” she announced, adding that successful applicants’ addresses will be verified.
“I also was given an undertaking that the staff will receive a certificate to underpin the skills obtained,” she hinted at the benefits of working on this project.
According to JW, it is anticipated that the construction will start on 26 February and end on 29 June this year, given the CLO is appointed on time.
The project is set to run on Bamboes, Boomgom, Worsboom and Kroton Streets in Constantia Kloof.
For the CLO position, email CVs to rosemary.khangale@jwater.co.za before 25 February at 12 noon.
