City Power has sent out a notice to residents in Florida and surrounding areas, asking them to prepare for a planned power interruption on Sunday, 28 March.
The electricity supplier apologised for the inconvenience but said the interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance on their network.
The planned power interruption will be in place from 7am to 3pm and will affect the following areas:
• Florida
• Florida Ext 2, 4, 5, 8, 9, 11 and 12
• Creswell Park
• Bram Fischerville Ext 9
• Hamberg
• Discovery Ext 9
• Rand Leases Ext 5 and 10
• Robertville Ext 14
• Georginia
• Florida Lake
Planned interruptions such as this one are conducted to ensure that the electricity network in the area is functioning at optimal level, therefore reducing the chance of unplanned power interruptions due to something malfunctioning.
The power could return at any point during the day, so all supply points are to be treated as live at all times. City Power would also like to remind residents that this planned maintenance is subject to cancellation in the event of load-shedding on the same day.
