Fourteen injured when minibus taxi crashes off Hendrik Potgieter Road
None of the passengers sustained any serious or critical injuries.
Much focus has been put on driver behaviour during the Easter weekend, but the issue is a year-round topic.
A minibus taxi crashed into a tree along Hendrik Potgieter Road towards Ontdekkers Road, injuring 14 people. Paramedics arrived on scene shortly before 8am on 7 April to find the passengers had already removed themselves from the minibus taxi, which was still resting against the tree.
All the passengers were assessed and were found to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. “Fortunately, no serious injuries or fatalities were found. The patients were treated and thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care,” confirmed ER24 Communications Officer, Russel Meiring.
Authorities were on scene and the incident is currently under investigation.
