Calling all prospective CLOs in Ward 70

City Power is inviting eligible candidates of Ward 70 to apply for the CLO position for the electrification of the Rugby Club informal settlement.

Following a site visit to the Rugby Club informal settlement in early March, the MMC for Housing, Mlungisi Mabaso announced that efforts to formalise the settlement would begin within a few weeks.

The first step in this project seems to be electrification, so City Power is inviting residents of Ward 70 to apply for the position of CLO (community liaison officer) for the electrification process.

The application criteria are as follows:
• Applicant must live in Ward 70 (non-negotiable) – only candidates from this area will be considered
• Must be fluent in English and other locally spoken languages
• Must be capable of writing brief reports
• Minimum educational qualification passed – Matric
• Must be well informed about local community structures including the ward councillor, community-based organisations (CBOs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
• Previous construction-related experience will be an advantage
• Must be able to travel to the site without assistance
• Must be easily contactable via cellphone or landline

The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 14 April. CVs must be dropped off between 8am and 4pm (before the deadline date) at the Ward Governance Office in the Roodepoort Civic Centre, 100 Christiaan de Wet Road, Florida Park.

The following documentation is required to apply:
• Neatly typed or handwritten CV
• Certified copy of your Matric Certificate
• Certified copy of your ID
• Proof of residence
• Original ID to be shown when you are dropping off your CV
