The commute was disrupted for many motorists this morning, 14 April, due to a power outage in the areas fed from the Kloofendal Substation.

City Power noted the outage shortly after 5am this morning, confirming that it was not load-shedding but rather a tripped incomer at the substation. Technicians are currently attending to repairs but have been unable to provide an estimated time of restoration (ETR) as yet.

The affected areas include:
• Ontdekkers Park
• Horizon View
• Discovery
• Honey Hills
• Surrounding areas

City Power apologised for the inconvenience and said they would keep residents updated through their Twitter page, @CityPowerJhb. The Record will post an update as soon as an ETR is announced.
