Update on Weltevreden Park pipe burst

Water tanks to be placed in certain areas as repairs on burst pipe begin

Johannesburg Water has announced the placement of water tanks in certain areas around Weltevreden Park following a pipe burst. On 14 April, the entity warned residents about low water pressure or no water while they looked at bringing in supply from other areas.

The team from Joburg Water has excavated the site on the corner of Jim Fouché and JG Strydom Roads ahead of the repairs on 15 April. While no official date or time has been given regarding the completion of the repairs, tanks have been placed at the following locations:

• JG Strydom Road corner Cornelius Street

• Harebell Street corner Cockspur Road

• Kastaiing Street corner Lobelia Avenue

• Jim Fouché Road corner JG Strydom Road

• Platboom Avenue corner Amarant Street

Additional tanks will be placed at:

• Rugby Road corner Haak-en-Steek Street

• Rugby Road corner Ring Tennis Road

Residents are urged to be patient as the matter is being resolved.
