A notice has been sent out by City Power asking Roodepoort residents to prepare for a six-hour power interruption on Tuesday, 20 April.
The electricity entity has said that this interruption is critical to prevent further unplanned outages.
The power will be off in 53 areas (and their extensions) throughout Roodepoort and its surrounds. There will be no electricity in these areas from 10pm on 20 April, to 4am the following morning (Wednesday, 21 April).

The power could return at any point during the day, so all supply points are to be treated as live at all times. City Power would also like to remind residents that this planned maintenance is subject to cancellation in the event of load-shedding on the same day.
