New date for planned Roodepoort power interruption

Following the cancellation of the last planned power interruption which was set to affect several areas in and around Ward 83, 89, and 97 City Power has announced a new date for the planned maintenance.

Following the cancellation of the last planned power interruption which was set to affect several areas in and around Ward 83, 89, and 97, City Power has announced a new date for the planned maintenance.

The entity will be conducting essential maintenance on Saturday, 8 May, leaving the affected areas without power from 10pm until 4am the following morning, 9 May.

“The power interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance work on our network, which is part of our programme of constantly striving to provide better service,” read the notice.

The following areas will be affected:
• Allen’s Nek Ext 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 32, 47 and 51
• Amarosa Ext 34
• Constantia Kloof and Ext 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 17, 21 and 22
• Floracliffe
• Honeydew Grove and Ext 3
• Honeydew and Ext 20, 21, 22, 25
• Honeydew Manor and Ext 1, 12, 18, 19, 20, 25 and 33
• Honeydew Ridge Ext 3, 5, 9, 8, 10, 14 and 15
• Honeypark Ext 16 and 6
• Kimbult AH
• Laser Park Ext 19, 14, 15, 16, 27, 2, 3, 20 and 9
• Little Falls Ext 1, 2 and 8
• Panorama Ext 1
• Poortview A.H
• Radiokop Ext 3, 4, 13, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 43, and 46

The power could return at any point, so all supply points are to be treated as live at all times. City Power would also like to remind residents that this planned maintenance is subject to cancellation in the event of load-shedding on the same day.
