Areas in and around Roodepoort North have been reporting issues with their water pressure since early yesterday afternoon, 28 April.
Ward 70 councillor, Caleb Finn, has notified residents that problems with some of Rand Water’s pump stations have caused the water issues and will unfortunately affect the whole ward and some surrounding areas. “Some areas are already experiencing low water pressure and this will worsen as we head into the evening. Some areas will completely lose supply, especially higher lying areas,” said Caleb.
Joburg Water will reportedly be placing water tanks in several areas, and as soon as the list is made available, Caleb has promised to share it.
There is no estimated time or restoration as yet, but Caleb will keep residents updated through the Ward 70 Facebook page (@ward70jhb) as information becomes available.
The Record will also post an update when information is forthcoming.
