Two planned power interruptions scheduled for Florida in May

Substation maintenance in Florida North and Florida Glen will leave areas in the vicinity without power on 13 and 23 May.

Florida is one of the areas in Roodepoort that suffers from unplanned power outages the most often. In order to prevent the likelihood of further unplanned outages, City Power conducts maintenance on their substations to ensure everything is in working order. Two planned power interruptions have been scheduled for Florida and surrounds during the month of May.

The first interruption will be on Thursday, 13 May due to maintenance at the Florida Glen Substation. Luckily, this outage will only last an hour and a half, being implemented from 10pm to 11.30pm the same evening.

The planned interruption will affect the following areas:
• Delarey
• Florida Glen
• Quellerina
• Whiteridge
• Bergbron
• Industria North
• Maraisburg Extensions
• Northcliff Ext 19 and 20

The second power interruption will be on Sunday, 23 May. This interruption will be in place from 8am until 4pm and is set to affect the following areas:
• Florida
• Florida View
• Florida North
• Florida Glen
• Florida Hills
• Florida Extensions
• Robertville
• Delarey
• Maraisburg Extensions
• Bosmont
