Motorists are urged to avoid the 14th Avenue / N1 intersection between 9am and 5pm this coming week.
Motorists will not be able to join the N1 South from 14th Avenue as the on-ramp will be closed between 9am and 5pm from Monday 17 May to Friday 21 May.
Commuters using 14th Avenue to join the N1 heading towards Gordon Road and beyond, will still be able to access the on-ramp before 9am every morning.
The closure is a necessary safety precaution needed to facilitate the cutting of the trees that line the south-bound section of the N1 between 14th Avenue and Gordon Road.
Additionally, the left-hand lane of the N1 between 14th Avenue and Gordon Road will also be closed, funnelling the flow of traffic into three lanes.
Motorists are asked to please use either Beyers Naudé Drive or Gordon Road to access the N1 South, make provisions for possible delays and to please drive with caution.
