Rand Water apologises for water restoration delays

Residents should take note that full restoration would take a bit of time as the system needs to recharge.

After confirming that they had isolated supply to some Roodepoort areas in order to conduct emergency meter maintenance on Thursday, June 24, Rand Water completed the maintenance at 05:00 on June 25.

The affected areas included Weltevreden Park, Honeydew, Amarosa, Laser Park, Little Falls, Strubens Valley, Ruimsig, Poortview, Trés Jolie, Radiokop, Allen’s Nek, and parts of Randpark Ridge and Wilgeheuwel.

According to Rand Water external communications officer, Eleanor Mavimbela, the estimated completion time was 20:00 on Thursday, June 24, with alternate supply provided for critical customers. However, delays on site resulted in the work being completed early this morning.

Residents should take note that full restoration would take a bit of time as the system needs to recharge.

“We do apologise for the inconvenience,” said Eleanor.
